The use of headings is very important to the search engine optimization of your website. Below are a few items for you to consider regarding the use of headings.
 
1) Use one H1 heading per page to highlight the most important keywords on that page to the search engines.
 
2) Synchronise headings with title tags, to make sure primary terms are targeted as effectively as possible.
 
3) Use H2-H5 headings to optimise for secondary terms and ensure these are used as sub-headings.
 
4) All content should have unique title tags and headings. This ensures, that you will target different variations of keywords, as opposed to competing with itself for the same search terms.
